first day in school

Many years have pass since the first day of school. But it felt like it was just yesterday I remember clearly that morning my father drove me to school. I teach school at 7 o clock. When I got off the car, councilors greeted me with their warm smile. They brought me up to the third floor. When I reached third floor, I saw familiar faces. I was shocked as I didn’t know they were in kent ridge too. The bell rang we were asked to enter the hall as it was time to assemble. As we walked into the hall, we share with each other what we did during the holidays. We settle down into the spot where my class was. The principle gave us a warm welcome to the school after that we sang the national anthem and the school song. After that a muscular and tall man with a deep voice took over. He introduces himself and gave the announcement then sends us back to class.

When I first stepped into the class, it was quite spacious as compared to primary school. We clutter around as we have to find a seat which is near to my friends and able to see the white board clearly. After we settled down our form teacher came into the class. She came in and introduces herself. Then it was our turn to introduce ourselves. We were all very shy as there are many unfamiliar people. We have to stand up and tell the whole class our name and which primary school we were from. After we introduce ourselves, she picked a chairperson for our class as she was still not very familiar with us. After that the councilors came in the class and got us to gather in a circle. They taught us to play a game called ‘whacko’. It was meant to be a game to make us know each other name. the person in the middle of the circle with a stick would have to hit the person which name had been called. If the person is being hit before he says another name he would have to go into the middle.

After the game, they brought the class up to the hall as it was time to learn the mass dance. It was very tricky as we just started to learn it. But after a few practice, we finally got it. The song of the dance was very catchy and the steps were very easy too. We have to perform the mass dance during the secondary 1 orientation camp. Thru the dance, I get to know many more friends. After the practice we were being dismissed and we went home. I was very tiring but at the same time fun.
